The charm of popular Polignano culture and tradition, both sacred and profane, has been preserved over time.
Emotions run high in the footsteps of Martyr Saint Vito, as he emerges from the sea to embrace his followers, patiently waiting on their balconies, with their noses still in the air following the trail of "comets" during the traditional "Kite Festival", before they head to the streets to cheer on the cyclists participating in the historical "Crucifix Plate".
The sea and the splendid white rocks are no doubt the inspiration behind renowned Polignano locals, Domenico Modugno, and gifted artist Pino Pascali.
